The oldest university is more than 500 years old.
The Open University is becoming more popular since it open 1966.
While higher education in the UK lasts 3 years, programs like medicine, dentistry and architecture are longer. In Scotland licensed education lasts 4 years. Education starts at end of September and the beginning of October.
Some higher education institutions provide education on a period basis. Research students can start education at any time of the year.
Britain has a 3 term education system. These are Christmas, Easter and a long summer vacation term covering the whole of August and part of July and September. Each term is 10 to 14 weeks.
Individuals with sufficient English to benefit from education are evaluated bearing in mind their qualifications, regardless of when their applications were made.
How you fill the application form and how you introduce yourself is very important for your acceptance out of normal dates. But our recommendation is to submit your application early.
University applications are handled by UCAS (The Universities and Colleges Admissions Service).
In recent years, some college’s gives first 2 year university education in their schools and successful students can finish the degree course in the actual university. This system can be very economic for international students.
