What is an Erasmus Work Placement?

Erasmus is the European Commission`s flagship educational exchange programme for higher education students, teacher and institutions. Erasmus is part of the EU Lifelong Learning Programme. (2007-2013)

The Erasmus Work Placement programme enables higher education students to do a work placement of between 3 months and 12 months in the UK.

This programme is available to students in all subjects and at all levels (Bachelors, Masters, and Doctoral) in 31 countries as part of their studies.

Croatia, Macedonia and Turkey nationals need a Tier 5 visa to join this program.

Advantages of an Erasmus Work Placement in UK:

As an Erasmus student you will normally receive an Erasmus grant in your own country and possibly additional payment from an employer in the UK.

Work placement provides an excellent opportunity to gain work experience in a British working environment and apply theory to practice.

It offers opportunities for personal, academic, cultural and linguistic development through living and working in UK.

It enhances your curriculum vitae by providing international employment experience.

It develops transferable skills, including communication across cultural boundaries, self management, independence, confidence, adaptability and self reliance.

It gains you an international network of friends.

It allows you to discover a different culture and gain international perspective.

Finally, it is really good fun.
